Kenley gave her first talk in primary. So cute. I read her a few short stories and we went over a few main ideas of her topic and she "wrote" her own talk. She drew pictures and told me what they all meant. She insisted she could do the talk herself and didn't want me up with her. I went up there anyway just in case, but she did great on her own. Her talk was close to 5 minutes. I did help her a tiny bit but after she was like "mom I didn't want you to help me!" I love how brave and sure of her self she is.
We tried to keep busy with Kelly gone. Quite a few park days. I took Kenley and Delaney on a girls night to see a dinner and play thing with beauty and the beast. I was so nervous having both girls with me alone but they did great.
One day I was being grumpy or something and told Kenley to clean the house. She played Cinderella and cleaned my room and did a great job. I'm so lucky to have such a great helper.
We went to a trampoline park with Megan and Bradley and did a night in a hotel with swimming and treats. Good friends make life great.

Jan 18
Well we started the new year with Delaney having croup. So no new years party with the nordfelts which was kind of sad since that's been our tradition for so long. Kelly left for Hayward on the 2 and I was left as a single mom until who knows when. The first week was rough but then we kind of got into a routine and it became our new normal. We went and saw the greatest showman with my mom and it was so good. Kenley loved it and made the cutest remarks in the movie. I love that it was a movie for all ages. Chan came to Utah to wedding plan and dress shop. We slept over at my dad's house a lot and Kenley was in heaven. It snowed, which has been rare this winter. It's kind of sad and I wish it would snow. We had a ton of dance parties. Went swimming, to the tree house museum and bike rides to the park. Kenley learned to ride her bike which has been so fun
1/4 Delaney tried crawling and got up on her knees

Kenley had her dance recital. She is the cutest and totally led the dance. She knew her dance and her moves so well. I love seeing her dance and love it so much. Project move was such a great dance studio for her.
Christmas with 2 kids was fun. Kids definitely make all holidays magical. Delaney didn't care much but both girls had so much fun together. Its the best to see them going through life together. After our morning of our family gifts my mom, Jeff and Kayla came over for breakfast and gifts before going up to my uncle Sheldon's for Christmas evening. I think on Christmas eve we went over to Kelly's family and did activities with them,
NYE Kenley "you're not cool mom"
Delaney got croup so our NYE was spent home. Making pizza and mini apple pies. Eating treats and playing pie face and hi ho cherry oh

Girls trip with my mom and the girls to Disneyland. I found amazing plane tickets and I still had 1 day left on my Disney pass so how could we not go? Disneyland is the happiest place on earth. I love it there and love making memories with my kids We spent the whole day there and Kenley was tall enough for Splash Mountain (my favorite) she was hilarious. The whole line shes talking how much she loves this ride, its the best ride. By drop 2 she was not into it and at the final drop she was scared. Haha I have a video and love it so much. Our trip to CA was definitely too short but so fun. I'm so happy my mom was able to come with us.
Disney on Ice was the highlight of the month. Kenley got dressed up as sleeping beauty and loved the whole show. She got a snow cone and felt so special with her mermaid cup and straw it came in. I love taking her on dates and experiences. Delaney was a good little trooper and did OK during it. We had requested aisle seats for easy exiting for her but that didn't happen. Oh well, slowly figuring out 2 kid life.

October 2017
The weather has been beautiful. Lots of outside time. Walks, hikes and park days. I love Utah's Octobers. The colors are so beautiful. We had some family pictures taken at fotofly which I'm glad we did. I am still so bugged by our photographer who did Delaney's newborn photos. She got no good family pictures. Ugh, oh well. The girls and I headed to California to stay with my Cousin Elise and hit up Disneyland. Since we were going over Halloween I had the girls just play around in costumes at home. Sloth and Snail. Best costumes ever. The sloth turned out awesome. I bought it a couple years ago, it was a cat but the crazy claws reminded me of a sloth so I bought it with big plans. With us prepping to move I wasn't really motivated to do much with it but then just decided to. I seriously love how it turned out. For California I had the girls bring Anna and Elsa costumes. My mom and I were Olaf and Sven.

Finally got some of Delaney's newborn pictures back. The photographer has been awful to get a hold of and comes up with endless excuses
We went camping at Bear Lake with the Days. Kenley LOVES camping and we had a awesome camp site. Unfortunately my car started having issues right as we were getting to bear lake. I was pretty sure it was the alternator since Ive had to replace that in my Mazda and it was similar issues. We took it to the only mechanic in bear lake, where everything tested good so we didn't worry. It was fine all Saturday but of course come Sunday it died. We ended up getting a hotel room for the night. My dad and Michelle came to our rescue and stayed there with us while Kelly took their car home. It made me so sad and nervous to move out of state away from my family. How will I live without them. Ugh I still hate thinking about moving.
The daddy daughter ball~
Kenley seriously looked forward to this all year. I hope we can plan to come home for this next year, even if my dad or someone takes Kenley. She loves it and Center point does a excellent job for a great price. I love how excited she gets for things. Shes growing up so fast, they both are. It makes me sad how fast time goes.

This was a hard month
Geremy passed away in a horrible car accident while he and ciera were on their way to Utah. It was extremely hard to see my sister go through something so tragic and terrible and have Ger no longer here. We were able to spend time with Ciera while she was in Utah and Chan was able to fly out. Makes you really think about what is important in life and how much we fight for or struggle with doesn't matter when it comes down to it. Love your people.
We did lots of swimming with my mom. Went on a hike to Bloods lake. Blessed Delaney in our home due to having family in town for a short time.

Kenley spent lots of fun times having sleep overs and play dates with grandparents which was great for both of us. I wasn't able to do many of our normal summer activities (hiking, swimming) so she got to do that with them. We spent the 4th at a BBQ/pool party where Delaney and I just sat back and watched.
Delaney turned 1 month
For the 24 Kelly had work off so we went to pineview for the morning. It was so fun to swim and paddle board. I had my 6 week check up the next day but felt great and decided swimming was OK. It had been a long hot 6 weeks.
Had my 6 week checkup and took both the girls which was stressful but they did great..Kenley loves to be a big sister she loves to be right in Delaney's face and super Hands-On and helpful. Some days are really hard but it's so worth it to see Kenley love Delaney and constantly want to hug and kiss her and hold her. Almost daily she asked me to take a picture of them together along with telling me she wants Delaney to grow up so she can play with her. The first two weeks were super hard with Kenley but I think she's finally settling into having a baby sister

Tried my best to soak in lots of one on one time with Kenley. Went on a little girls day to the Farmington pool. Lots of lunches and snacks outside on the front porch. We went on a Hike in Draper to a waterfall. I cant remember the name of it but it was a shorter hike, so easy for both Kenley and myself. Kelly was able to come with us too!

June-Birth Story
At my 37 week appointment I found out Dr Edmunds was going to be gone around my due date from June 15th through the 19th. I was so sad because he was such an amazing doctor and I knew that in his care everything would go great. He offered to induce me at 39 weeks so he could deliver the baby but I wasn't quite sure that was what I wanted to do. So after that appointment I went home and thought about it. I really like just letting the baby come when they want and not just picking their birthday which feels weird to me. My biggest fear was going into labor while he was gone and having a random Dr deliver and be in a similar situation to what I was with Kenley. I decided to not think too much about it and just see what the 38 week appointment brought. At my 38 week appointment I was dilated to a 2 and effaced. I decided to schedule the induction because he said I could always cancel it no big deal. Right before that doctor's appointment as I was parking the car I found out that Stacy passed away which is really shocking but the last few weeks of her life we're really hard for her and everyone. So at my doctor's appointment I had high blood pressure which we figured was just a fluke given the news I just got. I spent the rest of week 38 going back and forth about being induced and really stressing about it. Trying to get people's opinions and experiences from being induced. One of my biggest fears was if something ended up being wrong with the baby I would always blame myself for forcing it to come early, but I was also so anxious about not having Dr. Edmunds there. Going into week 39 I went to that appointment 6 / 12 pretty sure that I was going to choose to not be induced and just get as much info as I could on the doctors who were on call while he was gone. While still hoping that I wouldn't go into labor until after he got back. I had so much anxiety about choosing whether or not to be induce and it was a really hard choice for me. At my appointment my blood pressure was still high and because of that Dr. Edmunds really suggested that being induced might be the best option just in case my blood pressure continued to rise for third week in a row. Hearing that news I decided to keep my induction and felt really peaceful about it. I was
going to have a baby tomorrow which was exciting and nerve-wracking but I really felt okay about it that night I wanted to go out to dinner as a family so we went to Cheesecake Factory and had a little family date night with Kenley. I had a lot of anxiety and worry about her feeling left out and not getting all the attention like she was used to it really made me kind of sad just knowing her life would change and the time of just me and her about to end. We had a little family sleepover in our bed. I set my alarm for 6.we had to be at the hospital at 7:30 the but I think I woke up at 5 a.m. because I couldn't sleep. My mom came up to stay with Kenley and we arrived at the hospital at 7:30. Things are about to get real. We got all checked in and got into a room where I met my nurse Emily and found out she would be with me until her shift ended at 7. She was really the only nurse or person in there besides my doctor when he would come in which was nice and definitely different than Lakeview. I think around 9:30 or 10 they got me on Pitocin and every 30 minutes would turn it up for up. A little before noon doctor Edmunds came and asked me about my epidural and breaking my water. He recommended getting the epidurall first and then he would come break my water on his lunch. The anesthesiologist ended up taking a little bit longer to come because they were people who are more in pain than me and freaking out more than I was. So I didn't get my epidural until probably around 3. The worst part of the epidural was the numbing shots and the fact that I had to slump over while the baby's foot was in my rib. But other than that everything went great shortly after that Dr.Edmunds came and broke my water I was kind of nervous but it wasn't a big deal. After about an hour and a half the contractions were really strong and I could feel them a lot, they asked me if I wanted to redose of my epidural and I was nervous that it would make me feel completely numb but the contractions were bad enough that I decided to get it and I'm really glad I did. After the redose they checked me again and found out I was dilated to a 10 which it explain to the intense contractions. Id gone from like a three and a half to a ten in an hour and a half. The redose definitely made my legs feel heavier and my right leg which more numb but by the time my doctor was in and I was ready to push had worn off enough that I could still feel the start of contractions and could also feel if I was pushing the right way. Emily was super helpful and would encourage me when I was pushing the right way and would also count out for pushes with me. My doctor is super awesome and was able to slow things down to minimize any tearing. Unfortunately because of my past and Kenley's delivery he had prepared me that most likely I would tear. But it was a thousand times better than last time . I was able to do immediate skin-to-skin right after Kelly announced that it was a girl which was super surprising to us all. We both, along with the Drs and nurses thought it was going to be a boy. It was such a great experience to actually be able to be a part of the birth verses being in pain the whole time and crying. Getting to hold her was super special. She pooped on me while I was holding her which was funny and I didn't even notice at the time. Kenley came in and got some time with her new baby sister. She was really sweet and when the nurse had to take the baby and give her shots Kenley was super concerned and did not approve of them giving her shots. Eventually my family came in for a while and held her than ran and got food since the cafeteria was closed. Cafe Rio, Yum. Kelly took Kenley home for the night so she wouldn't feel left out. She was really upset to leave me in the hospital and cried the whole way home.
The next day Kelly's family came for a little bit but unfortunately baby girl had jaundice (coombs positive-our bloods didn't get along) So I was unable to go home Wednesday and the only time I could hold her was when feeding her.By Thursday her jaundice levels were better and we were able to go home. We hadn't 100% agreed on a name (since we were expecting a boy) so she left the hospital without a name which we later decided on Delaney Stacy Farmer

Kenleys birthday month. On her actual birthday we had planned to take her to the aquarium and go to panda express. Stacy ended up having a very bad day so Kelly went there straight from work. We headed up there for a bit then I took Kenley to boondocks where we did bowling and arcade games. She had a lot of fun and we were out late. I seriously love my time with her. We did the aquarium the next day. She had been wanting to try the fish pedicures since we got the aquarium pass and wekept telling her she could do it on her birthday . So we let her do it and she liked it for about 10 seconds just like I thought she would . Walking through the aquarium she saw a tornado simulator and wanted to do it . I knew she would hate it so we told her not today and she turned to us and said" but for my birthday." Of course we had to let her do it and of course she hated it it was pretty funny . She got a birthday week. She asked for a party with friends and wanted a pink cake with diamonds. She had a lot of fun at her party. We had games and face painting. Mostly the kids just ran around and played. It was a good day. We spent a lot of time in April with Kelly's family as Stacy's health declined.

Funny Things Kenley Says:
Kelly was tossing K onto the bed into a pile of blankets and pillows. He said "We need more pillows, lets add the pillows that are just for show." (decorative pillows) Kenley replied "yeah and ones for ciera too!" To her show pillows = Chanelle pillows.

Kelly was going to the priesthood session of general conf. I told K he was going to have a boys night then asked her what we were having(girls night) " a baby sister!"
Disneyland! A present from Christmas/an excuse to go to Disneyland. It was such a great experience and doing the princess lunch was completely worth it. She loved meeting characters and did so good both days at Disney. We stayed in Vegas on our way down and went to a cirque show. Kenley did really well and at one point got super excited saying "wow so beautiful, thats so cool"
My Grandpa Allred passed away and his funeral was at the end of our California trip. I bought a plane ticket home and stayed a few extra days. All my siblings were able to come which was nice to get to be together and be there for my Mom.

For Kelly's birthday our plan was to go camping but it rained lots of weekends so instead we set the tent up inside, made s'mores and watched petes dragon.

Kenley just told me mom we need to go to the exercise. You play with the the toys and watch me get strong muscles.
We started off the New Year with the Nordfelts at their annual new years party. This years theme: Black and White. 5 of the wives there were pregnant which was kind of funny. Kenley from day one has said shes getting a baby brother. We will see. Kenley is still super into makeup-eyebrows and lips. Her favorite food is noodles from panda. she stole some "duckses" from nursery...it was hilarious. she cut her hair. After months of asking I let her try on my wedding dress
We did two aquarium trips to sea quest. One with the Farmer family and once just our family where Kenley met a mermaid and fed the birds.

December
It snowed! A lot but one the inital snow stopped and it was safe to drive I love the snow. Kenley loves it too and always wants to go outside. She loves me to pull her on the sled through the park.
We had to upgrade her snow clothes, She was wearing all 12 month stuff. Too short on the arms and legs and she would get super wet and cold.
She makes winter much more fun because she loves the snow so much.Shes been quite the helper this year with shoveling our drive way. Whenever we go on walks she has to step and jump on the snow piles. We took her sledding on some bigger hills after Christmas and she and Bradley went down by themselves. Kenley liked the initial ride down but at the bottom she was never very happy. It was so nice having Kelly home from school and actually around.
Christmas was pretty low key. We went to the Sappenfield Christmas Eve party. Christmas morning we spent as a family, opening presents. Kenley was not happy to be woken up but warmed up to opening presents quickly. Santa gave her a doll that goes potty and she loves it. Kelly and I kept Christmas small this year since we just bought a car and don't need much else. Kenley was spoiled by everyone getting a play kitchen, a trike and a little people airplane ( plus a ton more). We took Kenley to her first movie The Good Dinosaur and she did really well until the last 20 minutes or so. It was a 2 hour movie which is too long in my opinion for a kids movie but it was fun to do that with her. Shes still loving dinosaurs.

Went got to watch Gabe for a few hours and Kenley loved having a little buddy over to play. She kept following him around and rocking him in her chair
We visited Ciera in San Antonio for her Air Force graduation. Kenleys new favorite airport toy is the bag size checker. San Antonio was kind of cold and I did not really like it there. I made told Kelly not to apply to school there, I would not like living there.
coloring at church and visiting the Alamo
cozy little flier
Hair styles

Thanksgiving was fun and low key. We went to my Uncle Sheldon's . Kenley had fun with the dogs and playing with her back pack
October
We started out October with Blake's birthday party. They are at an age where they can play together and like the same things. Its fun to be with friends and see our kids play together.
Spending some time with dad. I love when she will actually wear her sunglasses
My moms dog got too excited to see her and knocked her over. Sad little scrape on her chin
Making and eating cheerio necklaces in prep for grocery shopping. Any thing to keep her occupied. Shes so adorable
trick or treating at this is the place park, she was extra sassy
We went to Cornbellies and had so much fun. I wasn't sure if Kenley would be old enough to enjoy the things but she loved most of it. Her favorite was probably the cow train. She cried when she got off.
Bouncing on the giant "pillow"
One Sunday we took a picnic up to the mountains. It was so fun and beautiful

September
Summer is over and school is back in for Kelly, but at least its his senior year...FINALLY. This year he will spend the whole time with the University of Utah football team instead of doing rotations of different schools and sports for athletic training. The football schedule is rough. He is at school 7 days a week...so when I tell people he is never home, they think I mean Monday-Friday but when they find out its 7 days pretty much every ones reaction is the same. "that sucks" yes, yes it does. He travels with the team to all away games and Saturday home games he is there all day.Hopefully since the world is obsessed with football this will open extra opportunities for Med school when that time comes.
Kenley and I have just enjoyed the warm weather, I'm not excited for winter or snow. I hate driving to work in the snow.
Scavenging for berries and pears. She became an expert at finding "baiwees".

Having fun one night at Echo reservoir. She warmed up to the water, eventually

Lined up her babies, proud of it
smoot park on a warm day, playing in the water. Reminds me of doing things like this when I was little

Play date with Bradley. Kenley pretty much calls all little boys Bradley. This was her first time at Kangaroo zoo and she liked it a lot more than I expected.

The fair! We didn't go last year because of rain. It was so fun to take Kenley on rides and the big yellow slide. She cried after we went down the slide and kept saying "Again! Again!"
She is obsessed with "dine-sin-saurs".
She picked out some new jammies and was set on dinosaur ones.
I love how she pronounces dinosaurs right now.
Dine-sin-saurs!!
