Back to school?

For the last little while I've been thinking about going back to school and doing some continuing education in make up artistry.

We don't have a make up artist at salon I work at right now so we have to being a make up artist in for all the summer brides and bridal packages we do. At times it can be a bit hard finding someone to come in for a bride. Scheduling usually goes like this.
Bride calls wanting to schedule a day and time for hair and make up for bridals or the wedding day.

We schedule the hair no problem.
, explain we have to contact the Make  up artist, see if it will work for them and call the bride back to confirm.

Call one or more make up artists trying to find someone that can for the precise window of time..which can be hard and time consuming.

Then call the bride, confirm everything and were set for their big day.
It would be so much easier to have a in salon make up artist, and it's for this reason that I began to seriously think about going back to school.

Although the actual schooling isn't long length wise it would have me working then going to school  for a total of 12 to 13 hours per day. It's also expensive, but the tuition does include makeup and brushes which is nice. August has been an expensive month so maybe that's why I'm so hesitant.. especially having a bill from May, that i kind if forgot about, just barely show up.

I guess I have some thinking and budgeting to do.

We Moved..

...and then we moved back

at the beginning of summer Kelly and I started looking for a new place to live. Something closer to his school and my work. One of the first places we looked at seemed perfect, it was a basement apartment in Sugarhouse, about 10 to 15 mins away from everywhere we needed to be. It had a little yard and even a doggy door for Hershey.
It seemed great. we went to an open house to view the place and talked to the girl currently living there who said she loved living there and there were no problems. We filled out an application and a few days later got in touch with the owner and we were all set to move in.
We were both so excited to have a fresh start and have a place of our own ( we had been living in my dads house  where I have lived since I was a junior in high school) it never really felt like our own.

The day we got the keys we went to do some light cleaning to get everything nice and ready to move. I knew the place would be cleaned previous to us moving in  but there were just a few things i wanted to do for my own peace of mind.
so we walk down stairs and were greeted with these
Tons and Tons of them everywhere, crawling on the floor and flying around. It was sick.
and that began the start of my hate for the place..but i knew Kelly was really excited to live in Salt Lake so I tried to just forget about it.
We walked around the place to take inventory of any damage from the previous tenants and start to notice they cleaned nothing. The carpets were stained and dirty, the doors and walls had dirt and smudges and the toilet still had pee all over it. It was really discouraging to walk into our new home and be so grossed out and dissappointed.
We vacuumed the bugs called the landlord who had a cleaning service come and take care of the place and we didn't go back for 3 days.
We came back with high hopes, we walk in and there are more bugs everywhere, we watch them crawl up from the floors. we spent the next 3 days taking a few hours everyday to try and clean and stop the bugs as well as scrub the bathroom tile grout which was black but should have been white. That was fun.
Everyday when I left I would try and be positive and excited for a new start but everytime we came back I was so sad and discouraged to be moving into this gross place. The day we started moving our stuff in my sister Ciec came to help me finish the nasty tile grout. I was really upset and sad to be leaving our nice house in centerville to come to this bug infested place. While we were cleaning more bugs came up through the floor, we could hear the upstairs people talking and having conversations we really didnt want to hear and I just couldnt do it. I broke down outside to Kelly telling him how much I hated this place and  how hard I tried to like it because I knew he was so excited to live in Salt Lake. We had a good deep conversation.. all while a drug bust happened across the street.
He was really understanding and we decided to ask my dad if we could move back into his second home back  to our quiet neighborhood, nice backyard and bug free home. So were back and happy and have been having fun re doing our house and decorating to make it feel new and ours and im certainly happy to be back to having wonderful neighbors.

Red Rock Wake Park

Last weekend Red Rock Wake Park in St George had their grand opening and first competition. It was so much fun to take a little weekend and go down there. Kelly and I rode down with my dad and Michelle. It was fun to spend time with them and spend the weekend in the sun. I love summer so much, I spend the rest of the year looking forward to summer and playing out in the hot sun.

I didn't take too many pictures unfortunately but I took a few of the competition.

This is my favorite picture

Hopefully Ill be heading there a few more times this summer and fall...maybe I'll even get good enough to do those jumps and rails...ok probably not but its still fun to watch!

Here is a sweet little video of the competition

EXPERIENCE THE CABLE!

Seaside

For the 4th of July we went with Kelly's family to Oregon. His family has a beach house there And they usually go a couple times a year. This was my first time being able to go with them and it was my first time going to Oregon.

I loved this sign at all the beaches. Watch for Sneaker Waves...
On some tower thing..I dont remember what its called all I know is we threw little wooden airplanes off it.
4th of July fire on the beach
Exploring a cave that had starfish all over. In California I can only remember seeing starfish a few times and they were always tiny. These things were huge!
 Very different beaches than California
I think I was freezing the entire time in Oregon. I'm used to hot beaches, but now being back in Utah where its been extremely hot, Oregon weather is sounding great.
 The sunsets were always pretty
Every morning everyone would go out looking for shells, one morning they even went clamming. (Clams are slightly gross looking)

 walking the beach
The "front yard" of the beach house, just a little walk over the dunes to the ocean
It took almost 20 hours for us to get home...

we got lost in the middle of no where

I love traveling, even small trips are great. It would be my dream to go out of the country within the year...Im not sure that will happen but it sounds amazing. Thailand or Costa Rica sound like awesome adventures
I might just have to settle for a trip to Disneyland and hopefully get a lot of trips to
Red Rock Wake Park.

but whatever happens....
