Anniversary,Houston and San Jose

Dec 9 was our 1 year anniversary.
We went to blue lemon downtown for dinner then walked around city creek. Kelly surprised me with  emerald and diamond earrings.
Cute husband.

Dec 17 my dad dropped us of at the airport and we caught a flight to Houston. We stayed there overnight at a Ramada inn which was actually really nice and had dinner at a close restaurant. We planned to goout that night and maybe do some shopping but I've had a cold for the last few weeks and my cough was really really bad that night so we just went back to the hotel to catch up on sleep.
The next day we caught our flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. The flight wasn't bad but Kelly had a kid kicking his seat the whole time.hahaha.
At the airport ,our driver Manuel, was holding a sign for us and he drive us to our little hotel for one night in the city.
Hotel casa 69

Kelly loved this place. San Jose reminded him a lot of his mission in Mexico city. The hotel is small and the reception and actual rooms are across the street from each other. The room was small but nice enough. That night we walked downtown for dinner and just picked anywhere we could. We ended up at el patio on the main st. The food was ok. I didn't really like it. During dinner Kelly had a random sir come up and talk to him in Spanish saying something like "it's me!Jimmy! How are you?!" Then some police guy cane in to escort him out and the guy said "but it me!! Jimmy!" I decided he was drunk but maybe he really thought he knew Kelly and was sad Kelly didn't remember him.
After dinner we walked the main street which is kind of like the main tourist streets in Mexico or Hawaii. Vendors selling art, jewelery, music and entertainers. We got one of my favorite things which is fresh fruit blended with ice and water or fresh juice. They are so so good and my favorite treat.
We headed back to the hotel and went to bed. The only negative about casa 69 was the train nearby and hearing it all night.

The plan

A few months ago while I was randomly looking at flights to places I hope to one day travel (yes I do this often) I came across tickets to Thailand that were a pretty good price. That sparked my idea of going somewhere for Christmas/ our 1 year anniversary. After talking it over with Kelly, he gave in...I mean ...agreed and the search for the right dates with the right price to Thailand began.
Well a week went by, then two andprices went up and up and nothing really fit. So I just randomly looked at Costa Rica on kayak.com which searches flexible dates in a time period. I found an awesome deal to Costa Rica.it was so good I thought something had to be off or wrong but I reread and made sure  everything was ok. So we bought them and that was it. I knew nothing about CR, where to go what to do.. So I started searching. I came across a travel agency Gecko trail adventures and emailed them with things we wanted to do and see
. To my surprise they were cheaper than going about it on our own. They booked our hotels, activities and transportation. So glad we went this route because driving here is crazy and it's so nice to have a large part of the trip prepaid and not come home to lots of bills.
For anyone thinking about coming to CR I highly recommend Gecko Trail Adventures.
